The Fly-fishing Kids Club was started because of overwhelming demand from both kids and parents for a program to introduce fly-fishing to the kids.
Weekend Fly-Fishing Camp

During my two day camp, kids will have a great outdoor experience while learning fly-fishing and having fun catching fish. Our Beginners Fly-fishing Camp will introduce kids to fly-tying - techniques for tying fur, feathers and other materials onto the hook, creating replicas of real insects that will help them catch more fish! We will collect and study the insects of the river, learn how to "read the water" and learn where the fish live and feed. The next time you take your kids fishing, they'll fish like a pro!
  • The first day we'll collect insects and explore the wildlife, learn fly-tying, fly-casting, knots, fly-fishing and much more.
  • Camp cooked breakfast and dinner.
  • Live guitar campfire sing-a-long and don't forget the smores.
  • Overnight camping.
  • Guided fly-fishing the second day, where the kids can try out their newly-acquired fly-fishing skills The camp will conclude with a shore-line lunch and ice cream treats!
  • *Space is limited to 12 campers.

Hello Gary ~ "We had a good time this weekend. John had an excellent time at the flyfishing camp, and is now saying that the fly rod is his favorite way to fish. He is already looking forward to attending another camp with you next year. Attached is a photo of John and a bass he caught on the fly rod. Thanks for all your patience. I look forward to seeing you on the river again." ~Jim B.

Dear Gary ~ "I would like to thank you for me and my students from Neshaminy High School. We had a fantastic day with you on the River. Your patience, knowledge of fishing, teaching techniques and friendly nature made our first attempts at flyfishing both fun and informative. I can easily see that time with you on the Delaware would benefit the beginner as well as the experienced fly fisherman. Thanks again for a great day!"
~Jim Edwards --- Environmental Studies Instructor --- Neshaminy High School
Dear Gary ~ "On behalf of Silver Lake Nature Center, I would like to thank you for teaching the Teen Fly Fishing Camp. All of the students really enjoyed learning to Fly Fish. I am sure I will see most of those kids out on our lakes fishing all summer. I personally learned a lot, and will be using those skills in the future. Thanks Gary!"
